The decision to take it forward.
Another phone call comes. The project has slowed, and Matteo is asked whether he knows anyone interested in taking it forward.
Matteo puts himself forward: he wants to see the project through and fulfil the property’s potential. Renovation is already under way. The idea is to create a country house hotel where the character of the place meets a contemporary approach to hospitality.

A country house hotel.
A country house in the quiet of Umbria, close to the village of Monteleone d’Orvieto. A place for a couple’s escape, a gathering with friends and journeys of discovery through the region.
Preserving its character.
The restoration already followed a conservation-led approach. Inside and out, whatever could be saved was preserved: Tuscan terracotta floors, plastered and painted walls, and vaulted ceilings carefully sandblasted to reveal their original material.
Contemporary furnishings completed the interiors, complementing the architecture and its colours.
Umbria has many voices.
Pina’s hands in the kitchen, the producers, the partners who guide our guests through their experiences. Getting to know a region also means meeting the people who call it home.
